The power of PLAY!
By Midge CoxMulti-sensory play through movement and touch is vital to a growing brain! Babies and toddlers need to move and touch! There is hardly anything that a child learns that does not involve movement. Children have fun while connecting neurons in the brain! We all know about the 5 senses: Taste. Smell. Sight. Hearing. Touch. The hidden senses are fun and beneficial to the little child as well. They are vestibular, tactile, and proprioceptive. This just means that when children explore through touch and movement, messy play and “heavy work”, they can gain wonderful wellness and calm while possibly even increasing cognitive development!
